Cristiano Ronaldo has Europe’s top four all-time leading marksmen in his sights after ending a productive week on duty with Portugal with five goals in two games.
The Real Madrid man registered his first ‘poker’ (four goals in a match) in Friday’s 6-0 home victory against Andorra and added one more on Monday as the European champions defeated the Faroe Islands by the same scoreline.
Those results moved Portugal up to second in Group B of the European Qualifiers, while Ronaldo’s tally of 66 goals from 135 caps is good enough for sixth on the all-time list, leapfrogging Zlatan Ibrahimović this week.
