The 2019 Major League Baseball season is underway and Craig Kimbrel stays unsigned.
The free agent pitcher final appeared in a recreation with the Boston Red Sox throughout their World Series run. But after the crew elected to not re-sign him, he’s struggled to discover a new house on the open market. While Kimbrel has garnered curiosity from just a few groups, he nonetheless has but to ink a deal.
But in keeping with The Athletic, there’s nonetheless one crew that continues to be “more interested” within the 30-year-old than different free agent Dallas Keuchel.
“The Mets and Brewers are among the other clubs that have checked in on Keuchel, though the Brewers remain more interested in the other top remaining free agent, reliever Craig Kimbrel, sources say,” The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal writes. “The Mets continue to call on both Keuchel and Kimbrel as a matter of due diligence, and other contenders are taking the same approach, not wanting to be caught unaware if an opportunity arises; the Rays have stayed in touch on Kimbrel as well, sources say.”
The Brewers have been related to Kimbrel for a while now, however have but to tug the set off. But now that their nearer Corey Knebel elected to endure Tommy John surgical procedure, Milwaukee’s want for somebody to shut out video games simply bought much more pressing.
