Not often you write a lead item on the British No 18 woman but there's some very strange things going on with Anna Fitzpatrick at the moment – and you have to feel sorry for her.
Anna, like most British tennis players, has a Twitter account (@TENNISFitzy), but she also has a Twitter imposter, someone posing as her on the site (@annafitzy) – and they are not very nice. For example, when the real Anna posted a picture of herself, the other Anna wrote to her, saying:
@TennisFITZY You just look like a pathetic little loser with no life??? its a pic of anna!!!!! we all know!
Chuck in…
@TennisFITZY and of course anna is the SLUT laura robson was talkin about! sleep's at mens houses
And…
@TennisFITZY i live at my bro's place, i still believe ill win wimbledon……..noooooooo
…and you can't help but feel sorry for Fitzpatrick. Throw in the couple of other now-deleted accounts called things like 'IhateFitzy' and you do wonder who the hell it is with such a big grudge out there.
To be fair to Fitzpatrick, she has dealt with the abuse admirably, tweeting:
i can't believe you have nothing better to do than make up stories about me…i'm flattered 🙂
and
this is one weird obsession, and a real sad one at that! love that you take so much time over it!
Pretty restrained throughout. Let's hope she is left in some peace and quiet.

Haven't really had a chance to say how impressed I was by Oliver Golding at Wimbledon. It was not just his performances that were so good but the way he conducted himself with the media afterwards. His acting background obviously makes him comfortable in front of big audiences but he answered questions very maturely for a 16-year-old, made people laugh with his impressions and gave the impression that he could go very far in the game.
His secret? 'I have a good relationship with a girl who I’ve been with for a couple of years so I think that keeps me on the straight and narrow,' he told me.
Sure there's a lot more to it than that but refreshing to hear nonetheless.

With all the rubbish and nonsense that goes on at the LTA, another poor decision should not come as a surprise.
Eleanor Preston leaves her role in the media department at the end of this month after the LTA decided to create the position of junior communications manager and not give it to her. The craziness in this decision lies in the fact that Preston has a brilliant relationship with the likes of Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong, Melanie South and Katie O'Brien – and her friendship and guidance will be a big loss to them. She sorts out their media, is incredibly efficient and respected and is exactly the kind of person the organisation should be holding on to – not forcing out.
Anyway, that's enough from me
