Bruce Cassidy Impressed With Bruins’ Resiliency In 5-2 Win Over Flames

The Boston Bruins had to turn in a great performance against the red-hot Calgary Flames on Wednesday night, and that’s exactly what they did.

The B’s put an end to the Flames’ 10-game winning streak with an impressive 5-2 road victory. Calgary jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the contest, but Boston responded with an offensive outburst.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy was impressed with his team’s resiliency, especially David Backes. The Bruins winger had to be assisted off the ice after crashing head-first into the boards late in the first period, but would later return in the second frame and scored a huge goal to give the B’s a 3-2 lead.

To hear what Cassidy had to say of Backes, as well as the rest of the squad, check out the video above from “Bruins Overtime Live.”
