Share this: The Golden State Warriors have a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have the best player in the world (sorry, Kevin Durant and Paul Pierce). So, don’t crown the Dubs NBA champions quite yet. Yes, the odds are stacked against the Cavs, even after their 137-116 blowout win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 at Quicken Loans Arena. Only three teams in NBA history have forced a Game 7 after falling behind 3-0, and none of them went on to win their respective series. And those teams weren’t facing one of the greatest basketball teams of all time with Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all in the starting lineup. But those teams

Red Sox’s Dustin Pedroia ‘Excited’ To Be Back After 10-Day DL Stint
Share this: Dustin Pedroia is one of baseball’s fiercest competitors, so you know he hates sitting on the sideline. Unfortunately for Pedroia, that’s what he had to do as he served a 10-day disabled list stint with a wrist injury. The Boston Red Sox welcomed Pedroia back Friday, though, and his return helped the Sox pick up a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. Pedroia, as you could imagine, is “excited” to be back and is looking forward to trying to help his team string together some victories. To hear more from Pedroia, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. Thumbnail photo via Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
IOC Adds 3-On-3 Basketball To 2020 Summer Olympic Games In Tokyo
Share this: The International Olympic Committee is trying to bring more youth to its basketball teams. The IOC announced Friday that the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo will feature 3-on-3 basketball, something FIBA has been trying to get onto the program since 2007. The event is part of the committee’s focus toward more “youth-focused and urban-based additions,” which include the 3-on-3 tournament, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing, among others. The addition actually isn’t all that new, though, as the Youth Olympic Games featured 3-on-3 basketball in the 2010 YOG in Singapore and the 2014 YOG in Nanjing, China, where it was a huge success. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Bid For Pocono 400 Gets Off To Miserable Start
Share this: If Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s going to enter victory lane Sunday, he’s going to have to make up a lot of ground. That’s because Earnhardt blew the engine in his No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet at Pocono Raceway on Friday during practice for the Axalta presents the Pocono 400. The No. 88 team was forced to perform an engine swap, which means Earnhardt will start at the rear of the field in Sunday’s race. The incident reportedly occurred after just eight practice laps, and Earnhardt took full responsibility. Update on practice: I blew the motor up. Went into 2nd gear (was aiming for 4th) and grenaded it. Will have to start last Sunday. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. (@DaleJr) June 9, 2017 More about the dead engine.
NBA Finals Ticket Prices Plummet With Cavs On Brink Of Losing To Warriors In Swe…
Share this: Cleveland Cavaliers tickets suddenly aren’t so hot. Ticket prices for Game 4 of the Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Finals series have fallen dramatically with the Warriors on the verge of ending the series in a sweep Friday night. Before the series began, fans were willing to pay $1,248 for a cheap seat at Quicken Loans Arena, according to Time.com’s Brad Tuttle. Now that the Warriors lead the series 3-0, the cheapest seats for Game 4 now cost an average of just $287 on secondary markets, a decline of $961 according to Priceline.com. In fact, it’s now cheaper for Warriors fans who want to witness their team clinch the NBA championship to do so in Cleveland than at Oracle Arena in
Red Sox Notes: David Price Says Media Comments Didn’t Impact Outing Vs. Yankees
Share this: All eyes were on David Price when he took the mound Thursday night to face the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The Boston Red Sox starter made headlines Wednesday, lashing out at the local media and announcing he’d only speak on days he pitched. And in Price’s first outing since his comments, he didn’t pitch very well. The left-hander struggled through five innings, allowing six runs on eight hits with four walks in Boston’s 9-1 loss to the Yankees. Price didn’t have his best stuff by any means Thursday night, but he insists Wednesday’s incident had nothing to do with it. “Absolutely not,” Price said when asked if there was a lingering impact, as seen on NESN’s Red Sox postgame coverage. “It was
Yankees Troll Red Sox With Clever Tweet After Pair Of Convincing Wins
Share this: The New York Yankees took it to the Boston Red Sox in the final two games of their three-game series, and they decided to poke fun at their American League East rival afterward. After the Red Sox took the series opener 5-4 on Tuesday, the Yankees throttled Boston in the next two contests by a combined score of 17-1, including Thursday’s 9-1 rout. And following the series-clinching win, the Yankees fired off a pretty clever tweet in a well-executed troll effort. The tweet, of course, is a play on the Red Sox’s “Win, Dance, Repeat” slogan following Boston victories. Unfortunately for the Sox, they only got to show off their dance moves one time in their first trip to Yankee Stadium this season. Boston
