Karel Jarolím has been appointed Czech Republic coach after agreeing to leave Mladá Boleslav.
Jarolím, 59, has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend the terms until 2020. The anointed successor to Pavel Vrba, Jarolím will remain in charge of Mladá Boleslav until 25 August to lead them in UEFA Europa League qualifying.
“A coach who has achieved great results is coming – I believe he can be as successful with our national team,” Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR) chairman Miroslav Pelta said. “The first step is to create a side that can fight for FIFA World Cup qualification.”
