Mercy Rule wins it for Avery Bulls.

For a tournament that started last Saturday, the Will Dicus tournament finally came to an end. The tournament was prolonged throughout the week due to rain and has now been completed. Last night the Avery Bulls came in as the #1 seed as by winning both games they played last Saturday.
In the semi-final round, the Equip Ministries defeated the Watauga Braves 10-0. Equip moved to the championship game against the Avery Bulls for a huge battle. Avery got 6 runs in the top of the first inning, but Equip came right back with 4 runs in the bottom of the first, ending the inning 6-4. The heavy hitting Bulls racked up 2 more runs in the second inning to go up 8-4. The Equip rallied back in the bottom of the second with 5 runs taking the lead 9-8. The turning point of the game came in the 3rd inning as Avery had 2 outs without scoring and still trailed 9-8. Depsite the two outs, Avery was able to still score 6 more runs to take the lead at 14-9. Equip Ministries got 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd and Avery led 14-11 going into the 4th. In the beginning of the 4th, Avery ended the inning with 8 runs, taking the lead to 22-11. In the bottom of the 4th, Avery had 3 great defensive plays, a ground out for the first, a line out for the second, and another ground out for the third to shut down Equip Ministries. The 10-point Mercy Rule kicked in after the inning and Avery won with a final score of 22-11.
