Kamke beats Kudla in opener in Washington

Tobias Kamke of Germany beat 18-year-old wild-card entry Denis Kudla of the United States 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday's only main-draw match at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic. Playing much steadier, Kamke made only 12 unforced errors, 19 fewer than Kudla. Kamke broke serve to open the second set and was on his way, wrapping up the victory in 70 minutes. Kamke will face 11th-seeded John Isner - winner of the longest match in tennis history - in the second round. Isner and the other 16 seeded players at the hard-court tournament all received first-round byes.

Djokovic beats Nadal, now 37-0 in 2011 (AP)

Novak Djokovic is starting to realize what an impact he's making on tennis with his recent domination of Rafael Nadal -- and everyone else in the game, too. Djokovic beat the top-ranked Nadal 6-4, 6-4 in the Italian Open final Sunday to stretch his unbeaten start this year to 37 matches. Djokovic trails only John McEnroe's 42-0 start in 1984.
