BOSTON -- The Bruins will play their first game on TD Garden ice this season on Friday night, and captain Zdeno Chara will be in the lineup for the preseason home opener against the New York Islanders. Chara had a scare earlier in the week when he was hit on the inside of the left leg with a shot during practice on Monday. After playing against their teammates Tuesday night in Providence, the Bruins will get to take on players from another organization on Wednesday when they open their preseason schedule with an exhibition game against the Senators. The Bruins will take 22 players on the trip to Ottawa. The final lineup is not set as they'll need to scratch two players from the traveling contingent with one extra forward and one extra defenseman coming along as insurance. But the B's development camp is set to get underway soon, as the team hopes to groom its next batch of Stanley Cup champions. This year's first-round pick Dougie Hamilton headlines the 24 players who will be in attendance. Others who will be skating at the development camp include David Warsofsky, Jared Knight and Ryan Spooner.
