Bruins, Tim Schaller Nearly Score On First-Period Power Play Vs. Sabres

Share this: Almost doesn’t count, but the Boston Bruins executed a nearly perfect power play besides the fact that they didn’t score. The B’s had the man-advantage Saturday in the first period against the Buffalo Sabres, and they set up what should have been a sure scoring opportunity. With Boston in a perfect triangle, Frank Vatrano fed the puck to Austin Czarnik on the left dot, and Czarnik passed to Tim Schaller right in front of the net. Schaller was robbed, however, on a nice pad save by Sabres goaltender Robin Lehner, but the Bruins forward did score in the second period. Frank Vatrano Scores For Providence Bruins In First Game Back From Injury

Share this: Frank Vatrano is back. After being sidelined with a foot injury for nearly four months, Vatrano returned to the ice Friday with the Providence Bruins for their game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. And Vatrano found the back of the net in his first game back. With Providence down 2-1 with just over three minutes remaining in the game, Vatrano fired home a wrist shot to knot the score at two. Providence went on to win 3-2 after Peter Cehlarik scored the game-winning goal just 44 seconds later. Thumbnail photo via Rick Osentoski/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
