Watch Paul Pierce Make His Celtics Debut Exactly 18 Years Ago Today

Share this: BOSTON — Paul Pierce’s NBA career will come full circle at TD Garden on Sunday. On Feb. 5, 1999, a young Pierce made his Celtics and NBA debut against the Toronto Raptors at the Garden. Pierce’s promise was on display even then — he tallied 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals in Boston’s season-opening loss. (The 1998-99 NBA season didn’t start until February due to a lockout). Pierce will close the chapter on his Boston career

Why Hall Of Famer Aeneas Williams Sees Himself In Malcolm Butler

Share this: HOUSTON — Aeneas Williams is a Pro Football Hall of Famer who had 55 interceptions in his 14-year NFL career, so he knows a lockdown cornerback when he sees one. And he sees one in Malcolm Butler. “Malcolm had what I had,” Williams told NESN.com’s Rachel Holt on Tuesday on Super Bowl LI Radio Row. “Even though he’s not as tall as someone of the other guys, he’s strong. And I had unusual strength when it came down to bigger receivers. … The thing I love about his game is he competes, and he’s a smart player.” Watch the video above to hear more from Williams, who also showed off his Ring of Excellence, courtesy of Kay Jewelers, and explained why he

Louisiana Tech Vs. UAB Basketball Brawl Leads To Mass Ejections, Ridiculous Endi…

Share this: The Louisiana Tech University and University of Alabama at Birmingham basketball teams really should stick to hoops. The teams’ game devolved into a farce Thursday at Bartow Arena after a mass brawl and subsequent ejections left both sides short-handed. With around six minutes remaining in the second half and UAB leading by 13 points, the chaos came when UAB’s Hakeem Baxter started fighting with Louisiana Tech’s Jacobi Boykins. Players from both sides left their respective benches. [embedded content] The referees followed the rules and ejected Baxter, Boykins the assistant coaches and any player that left the bench, namely most of them. Louisiana Tech had to finish the game with just four players. Yes, that’s a five-on-four basketball game. UAB went on to win
