Robert Mathis Announces He’s Retiring After Colts’ Season Finale

Share this: Robert Mathis is calling it a career. The legendary Colts pass rusher announced Friday he’s retiring after Sunday’s season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium. Mathis, a fifth-round draft pick in 2003, has spent his entire 13-year career with Indianapolis. Mathis, a six-time Pro Bowl pick, was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year for the 2013 NFL season after registering a career-high 19.5 sacks. The 35-year-old enters his final game with 122 career sacks, including four in 13 games this season. Only Dwight Freeney of the Atlanta Falcons — another Colts legend — has more career sacks among active NFL players. “I want to walk away, not limp away. The rest of my body goes to my kids,”

Barack Obama Shouts Out J.R. Smith For Wearing Shirt During Cavs’ White House Vi…

Share this: The Cleveland Cavaliers were honored at the White House on Thursday, and they all showed up in their best formal attire. Even J.R. Smith. The Cavs shooting guard went on quite a few shirtless escapades after Cleveland won its first NBA Championship in June, including partying in Las Vegas after Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors, riding through the Cavs’ victory parade and even playing a round of golf. But Smith kept his shirt on for his trip to Washington, D.C., and President Barack Obama was thankful for the gesture. You can’t really come back from getting roasted by the leader of the free world, but, hey, at least Smith’s an NBA champ. Thumbnail photo via Geoff Burke/USA TODAY Network  More Stories Source link
