Share this: Rick Porcello didn’t pitch poorly Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels, but he still took the loss after the Red Sox offense couldn’t provide much run support in a 3-2 defeat in Anaheim. Porcello gave up three earned runs, struck out six and walked one over eight innings. Check out his take on the loss in the “NESN Sports Today” video above, presented by People’s United Bank. Dustin Pedroia Continues To Hit Well For Red Sox Entering Series Vs. Angels
Share this: The Boston Red Sox’s offensive star over the past week-plus has been pretty obvious. Dustin Pedroia has been on fire of late, as he enters Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels riding a nine-game hitting streak. And the Boston second baseman also has been coming through with clutch at-bats while his teammates have gone through some ups and downs at the plate. Hear more about Pedroia’s recent offensive success from NESN’s Adam Pellerin and Tim Wakefield in the video from “Red Sox First Pitch,” presented by Men’s Wearhouse, above. Red Sox’s Bullpen ERA Ranks Among Best In MLB With Dodgers, Indians
Share this: The Boston Red Sox have had one of the best bullpens in Major League Baseball this year. The Sox’s bullpen has a 2.96 ERA heading into Friday night’s road matchup with the Los Angeles Angels, which is good for third-best in MLB. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Indians have better bullpen ERAs, while the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees round out the top five in the statistic. Hear more about Boston’s bullpen success from NESN’s Dave O’Brien and former reliever Mike Timlin in the video from “Red Sox Gameday Live,” presented by DCU, above. Watch Red Sox’s Jackie Bradley Jr. Make Ridiculous Catch Vs. Angels
Share this: Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Jackie Bradley Jr. made an absolutely ridiculous catch that will flat-out make your jaw drop. The Boston Red Sox outfielder turned in his latest web gem in the first inning of Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels. Yunel Escobar led off the frame with a deep fly to right-center field, but Bradley robbed the Angels third baseman of extra bases with a leaping catch against the wall. And Red Sox starter Chris Sale simply couldn’t believe what he had just seen. Just another day in the office for JBJ. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Was In No Mood To Talk To Ryan Blaney After Wrecking
Share this: Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn’t had a great start to the 2017 NASCAR season, something his run-in with Ryan Blaney during Sunday’s STP 500 did nothing to help. Apparently Blaney wants to bury the hatchet, but Earnhardt still is a little salty. Blaney, a friend of Earnhardt’s, attempted to call the Hendrick Motorsports driver following Sunday’s race. Earnhardt, though, gave Blaney the stiff arm, and wants the world to know about it. Ouch. At least Blaney has a new high-profile buddy in Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout to lean on for support, though. The incident that has Earnhardt so standoffish occurred late in Stage 1 at Martinsville Speedway. Earnhardt and his No. 88 Chevrolet appeared to get loose, eventually spinning out after Blaney’s No.
Kid Brought To Tears After Angels Star Mike Trout Signs His Baseball
Share this: Sunday was a day one Los Angeles Angels fan will never forget. A kid wearing a Mike Trout jersey attempted to get an autograph from the Angels superstar before Sunday’s game between L.A. and the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Trout signed his baseball, and the kid began crying tears of joy, presumably. The kid’s reaction when Trout grabbed his baseball to sign it also was priceless, and you could see him telling Trout “you’re my favorite player.” Don’t expect this fan to ever give up that baseball. Getting an autograph from a likely Hall of Famer is one thing, but receiving it in person at an actual game is something else. More Stories Source link
