NFL Draft Prospect Gareon Conley Denies ‘Completely False’ Rape Allegation

Share this: Former Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley has broken his silence about the rape allegation against him. Conley released a statement Wednesday regarding the claims in a police report that were filed in Cleveland. A woman is accusing Conley of raping her in a Cleveland hotel on April 9. “The allegations against me concerning the night of April 8/9 that have recently been reported in multiple media outlets are completely false,” Conley said, as transcribed by TMZ. “I did not commit a crime and have not been charged with a crime.” ESPN reported the 23-year-old woman claims she met Conley in an elevator. And after she declined Conley’s invitation for group sex, he had sex with her and kicked her out of the hotel room. “I

NFL Draft 2017: Predicting Biggest Busts At Every Position

Share this: Despite weeks and months of NFL draft preparation, there will be players selected this weekend who turn out to be busts. That’s life in the football world. The draft is an inexact science, and the bust whammy does not favor any particular position. Teams can do as much homework as they’d like, but the NFL is a whole different beast, and players who thrive in college aren’t necessarily going to succeed at the next level. The Sports Daily identified players at each position from the 2017 NFL Draft class who are most likely to be considered busts in the next five years or so. Check them out at the link below. Malcolm Butler Signs Patriots’ First-Round Tender, Now Can Be Traded

Share this: Cornerback Malcolm Butler officially is under contract with the New England Patriots. Butler signed the first-round tender given to him by the Patriots on Tuesday. That means he won’t be signed to a restricted free-agent offer sheet by another team. The Patriots now can discuss Butler in trades. Prior to Butler signing, discussing him in trades was against NFL rules. The New Orleans Saints hosted Butler on a free-agent visit last month. If Butler isn’t traded, he will play in 2017 on a one-year $3.91 million deal unless he and the Patriots agree to a long-term contract. NFL Rumors: Tony Romo Going To CBS, Will Replace Phil Simms As Top Analyst

Share this: We now know where Tony Romo will land for the 2017 NFL season, and it’s in the TV booth and not the football field. Sports Business Journal reported Tuesday morning, citing sources, that Romo will replace Phil Simms as the lead NFL color analyst for CBS during the 2017 season. According to the report, the two sides haven’t hammered out the details and nothing has been signed, but the two sides do have an agreement. Romo will work alongside the network’s top play-by-play man Jim Nantz. An official announcement is expected at some point Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Interestingly, Romo going to CBS likely means he’ll do a lot of AFC games despite spending his entire career in the NFC

Jerry Jones Wants NFL To Stop Marijuana Testing, Off-Field Invesitgations

Share this: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a man of strong convictions. Jones shared some of his beliefs at an NFL owners meeting this past week when he urged the league to end marijuana testing as well as its independent investigations into off-field conduct. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported Sunday, citing a source close to the meeting, that Jones was one of the only owners to speak up at the meeting, and that these were the focal points of Jones’ talk. Jones was told that the issue of marijuana falls under the collective bargaining agreement and that the players would have to make one or more concessions to get a change in the drug policy, according to Florio. The league also is willing to

Michael Bennett Has Interesting Take On Tom Brady’s Stolen Jersey Saga

Share this: Super Bowl LI was one of the most captivating games in NFL history, but the drama didn’t end for the New England Patriots after they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. Following the conclusion of the game, it was revealed that Tom Brady’s jersey had been stolen. After nearly two months of mystery, an extensive search for the jersey led to an international media member, who actually had swiped Brady’s jersey from Super Bowl XLIX as well. The search for Brady’s stolen jersey(s) was no simple task. In fact, both NFL security and the FBI were involved in tracking down the quarterback’s Super Bowl threads. Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett apparently got a kick out of the jersey saga, as he put it in perspective to

Patriots’ Addition Of Brandin Cooks Has One NFL Head Coach Cringing

Share this: Any offense with Tom Brady under center already is a formidable one. So what happens when you add Brandin Cooks to the New England Patriots? Well, if you’re Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio, you cringe. And, considering the offense added Cooks and Rex Burkhead, replaced Martellus Bennett with Dwayne Allen and should have a healthy Rob Gronkowski back alongside Dion Lewis, James White, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Malcolm Mitchell and Chris Hogan for the 2017 season, that response seems like an appropriate one. “Yeah, I (did) cringe. They added a real special talent in Cooks,” Del Rio said at Tuesday’s AFC coaches breakfast at the NFL Annual Meeting, via the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian. “He can really do some things. He can
