Leicester: story so far, key players, why they can win

Story so far: LeicesterIf last season's Premier League taught us anything, it's that you can never rule out Leicester. Their English title defence hasn't exactly gone to plan but progress in Europe has been serene for the UEFA Champions League debutants. They booked their place in the last 16 with a game to spare and then stunned Sevilla with a rousing comeback to reach the quarters. Jerry Jones Wants NFL To Stop Marijuana Testing, Off-Field Invesitgations

Share this: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a man of strong convictions. Jones shared some of his beliefs at an NFL owners meeting this past week when he urged the league to end marijuana testing as well as its independent investigations into off-field conduct. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported Sunday, citing a source close to the meeting, that Jones was one of the only owners to speak up at the meeting, and that these were the focal points of Jones’ talk. Jones was told that the issue of marijuana falls under the collective bargaining agreement and that the players would have to make one or more concessions to get a change in the drug policy, according to Florio. The league also is willing to

NFL Rumors: Rule Banning Leaping Field-Goal Blocks Expected To Pass

by Zack Cox on Tue, Mar 28, 2017 at 8:33AM 2,768 Share this: Sorry, Shea McClellin. Your signature move soon will be illegal. The NFL owners are expected to pass a rule Tuesday banning players from leaping over the offensive line to block field goals and extra points, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. McClellin employed that tactic twice for the New England Patriots this past season, successfully blocking a field goal against the Baltimore Ravens and batting away an Atlanta Falcons extra point in Super Bowl LI but drawing a dubious penalty in the process. Jamie Collins, Kam Chancellor and Bobby Wagner also have used the move in the past. [embedded content] It’s an exhilarating play but, some around the league have argued, also a dangerous

U.S. Soccer Is Forcing All Players To Stand During National Anthem

Share this: U.S. Soccer is putting its foot down on national anthem protests. The national federation has instituted a new policy that requires all players representing a U.S. national team, both men’s and women’s, to “stand respectfully” during the national anthem before games. U.S. Soccer’s board of directors unanimously passed the bylaw on Feb. 9. The new policy appears to be in direct response to U.S. women’s star Megan Rapinoe, who knelt during the national anthem before a Team USA friendly in September. Rapinoe, following the lead of NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, was kneeling to protest social inequality in America. U.S. Soccer issued a statement at the time saying it didn’t agree with Rapinoe’s decision. After the federation’s new bylaw was revealed Saturday, Team USA women’s
