NBA Rumors: John Calipari Reaches Out To Knicks, Interested In Team Presidency

Share this: The New York Knicks are in need of new direction, and one of college basketball’s best coaches reportedly is interested in leading the charge. According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari has reached out to the Knicks to expresses interest the team’s presidency. The Knicks parted ways with former president Phil Jackson on Wednesday. The interest doesn’t appear to be mutual, though, as Begley reports the Knicks currently are not considering Calipari at the moment. Begley also notes that if Calipari were to take on the president role, he’d want to be the team’s head coach, as well. Calipari does have some NBA experience. He was the head coach of the New Jersey Nets for parts of three seasons,

What To Make Of Dwayne Allen After Patriots Tight End’s Spring Struggles

Share this: [embedded content] Organized team activities and minicamp mostly went swimmingly for the New England Patriots this spring. Most of the Patriots’ high-profile additions shined in the unpadded practices, and the defense and offense looked well-matched. Tight end Dwayne Allen, who was acquired in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason, had his struggles, however. Allen dropped passes and had some miscommunication with quarterback Tom Brady. So, are these common struggles associated with joining a new team, or is there reason to be concerned that Allen won’t be able to fill Martellus Bennett’s old role as the Patriots’ No. 2 tight end? NESN.com’s Doug Kyed, Zack Cox and Michaela Vernana discussed Allen on this week’s “Between The Tackles” podcast. Watch the clip above or

The Best Part About Patriots’ Lavish Super Bowl Rings? They Came On NFL’s Dime

Share this: The New England Patriots’ latest Super Bowl victory arguably was their sweetest, and the fantastic rings they received Friday were icing on the cake. But hear us out: It somehow gets even sweeter for the Patriots and their fans. New England players, coaches, team executives and staffers received a total of 150 Super Bowl rings Friday, which each featured exactly 283 diamonds in a terrific nod to the team’s historic Super Bowl LI comeback against the Atlanta Falcons. The best part? Those rings all came on the NFL’s dime. As it does every year, the league covered the cost for the Patriots’ fancy bling, paying for all 150 rings. When the Pats last won the Super Bowl in February 2015, their rings

Kevin Durant Begins To Create Legacy With Fourth-Quarter Heroics In Game 3

Share this: Kevin Durant said he’d been practicing the shot for his entire life, and a lifetime of preparation paid off Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena. Durant went on a personal 7-0 run over the final two minutes of Game 3 of the NBA Finals to propel his Golden State Warriors to a 118-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 77 points, and James rested only two minutes the entire game. But even with James and Irving playing at an other-worldly level, Durant’s cold-blooded pull-up 3-pointer with 45 seconds left made their efforts just a footnote in NBA history.
