NFL Rumors: Kirk Cousins Requested Trade From Redskins, Received Tough Reply

Share this: The Washington Redskins are raising the bar on their own dysfunction. Washington already made an unprecedented move this offseason by placing its exclusive franchise tag on quarterback Kirk Cousins for the second consecutive year, becoming the first team in NFL history to do so. Cousins appeared to take the news in stride at the time, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported a pretty damning development Thursday. Kirk Cousins appealed personally to owner Dan Snyder for a trade but was basically told not to get his hopes up, per sources. — Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) March 9, 2017 It looks like Cousins, whose name has appeared in trade rumors, finally is fed up with Washington and wants out. Patriots Switching Things Up At Tight End With Reported Dwayne Allen Trade

Share this: The New England Patriots reportedly added depth at tight end Wednesday by adding Dwayne Allen in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a fourth-round pick. The Patriots also received a sixth-round pick in the deal. Allen has spent the first five years of his career with the Colts, and he had 406 yards on 35 catches with six touchdowns last season. With this trade, it appears Martellus Bennett’s time in New England has come to an end after spending one year with the team. To hear more on Allen, check out the video above with NESN’s Nikki Reyes and NESN.com Patriots insider Doug Kyed on “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. More Stories Source link

Share this: Is it March 9 yet? The NFL offseason doesn’t go into full swing until Thursday, when players with expiring contracts officially become free agents and teams can begin negotiations with players and each other. But until then, speculation will continue to run wild. Case in point: Jimmy Garoppolo. The New England Patriots backup quarterback has been the subject of plenty of trade rumors, and on Friday night, Jimmy G posted a photo on Instagram that had Patriots fans’ imaginations running wild. ✌🏼 #LaFamiglia A post shared by Jimmy Garoppolo (@jimmypolo10) on Mar 3, 2017 at 5:45pm PST Is Garoppolo saying peace out to his Patriots family? Is he simply acknowledging how much he enjoys being in New England? Who knows? Things seemed safe for Garoppolo on Wednesday,

Patriots Reportedly Still Open To Trading Jimmy Garoppolo For Right Offer

Share this: It turns out Jimmy Garoppolo’s days with the New England Patriots could be numbered after all. Just a day after ESPN’s Adam Schefter adamantly reported Garoppolo “is not going to be traded” by the Pats, Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot painted a very different picture Thursday, citing a league source. In fact, it appears a trade still is an option for New England, although with one major stipulation. Substantial trade talks apparently already have started, as the source told Cabot there is a “preliminary offer” from one team, and a second team is expected to make a bid for Garoppolo, too. A first-round pick is among the assets the Patriots are looking for in such a trade, according to Cabot. The Cleveland Browns are among the teams
