USC, arguably the hottest team in the country, only moved up one spot to No. 12, one slot behind No. 11 Louisville. No. 19 Boise State still is the highest Group of Five team. No. 1 Alabama leads No. 20 USC 17-3 at the half, but the main news coming out of the first 30 minutes was a low blow by the Trojans’ Jabari Ruffin to Minkah Fitzpatrick. USC’s Adoree Jackson tried to help Fitzpatrick, who was lying on the ground, back up, but Ruffin got in the way and stomped on his crotch. That play obviously led to an ejection.
