World Series Game 5 Ticket Prices Plummet In Chicago After Indians Take 3-1 Lead

Chicago Cubs fans are feeling pretty down at the moment, but there’s a silver lining.

The Cubs are on the brink of World Series elimination after the Cleveland Indians won Game 4 on Saturday to take a 3-1 series lead. So, what’s the good news in that? Cubs fans hoping to get into Sunday night’s Game 5 at Wrigley Field won’t have to empty their wallets (as much).

“Only” $750? That’s quite the bargain.

Given the astronomical prices for Games 3 and 4 in what is Chicago’s first World Series appearance in 71 years, $750 actually is pretty low. That drop in the secondary market usually means a drop in demand, as Cubs fans apparently don’t want to cope with the possibility of watching their team’s championship drought continue — on their own turf, no less.

Here’s a look at just how much ticket prices have dropped in the last 24 hours:

In short: If you’re an Indians fan who doesn’t mind making a spur-of-the-moment trip, this is a great opportunity to watch your team capture its first title since 1945.
