Xander Bogaerts Really Wanted Dustin Pedroia To Break That MLB Record

Dustin Pedroia nearly made history Saturday night.

The Boston Red Sox’s second baseman entered his final at-bat with a chance to tie the major league record for most consecutive at-bats with a hit. After three terrific nights at the plate, Pedroia was sitting on 11 straight hits (with a walk mixed in Friday) before grounding out in Boston’s 8-3 win.

But shortstop Xander Bogaerts still was very impressed, and told anyone who would listen what Pedroia was approaching.

Hear what Bogaerts had to say in the video from NESN’s “Red Sox Final” above.
