On paper, David Price has an undefeated record as a member of the Boston Red Sox. In reality, he’s been a bit more mediocre.
Boston’s prized offseason acquisition is 2-0 this season, though the team has gone just 2-2 in games he’s pitched. Most recently, Price got knocked around for eight earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings pitched against his former Tampa Bay Rays, bloating his ERA to an ugly 7.06 through four starts.
Fortunately, he gets to pitch in the National League on Tuesday against the lowly Atlanta Braves, who own baseball’s fourth-worst batting average (.227) and have scored the fewest runs (61) in the game.
