Andrew Benintendi has reached the big show, but he’s not too big time to call his old man.
The Boston Red Sox’s No. 2 prospect was recalled to the majors early Tuesday morning following Monday’s 2-1 win against the Seattle Mariners, and he met with the Boston media before Tuesday night’s game for the first time.
Among the things we learned included his first call upon learning of his promotion: His dad.
Atta boy, Andrew.
