Good Warning Device,
There are many walkers on our bike paths. When I come up behind them they need to be warned. When doing it by voice people seemed to always do the unpredictable. This bell is easy to use and plenty loud. I find people seem to always step right and look over their left shoulder. It’s doing just what I wanted. For the price this is an excellent warning device.
|Huge Bell but Great Sound!,
This bell is a LOT bigger than it appears. It’s large at approximately 2.5″ (approx. 650mm) in diameter. Way bigger than I expected but the “ching-ching” sound it produces is loud and clear.
It mounts very simply: one Phillips-head screw on the underside tightens to keep it secure to your handlebars. If you tighten it down well, you shouldn’t have any problems with it rotating and needing a rubber shim to hold it in place. It stays in place well by itself and fits a wide variety of handlebar diameters.
I must have brushed up against something because the black paint on the metal top is scratched up. The pain job should hold up better than that but the functionality (sound) is not affected. It’s just cosmetic but it’s shocking how easily the paint just scratched up.
This is a nice for getting people’s attention and being safe on the road. It works well but as stated prior, it is a good deal larger than it needs to be.
