Blink at your own risk during this Boston Bruins-Detroit Red Wings matchup.
The two teams combined for three goals in the opening three minutes and five in the first period Sunday afternoon. And Brad Marchand got it all started just eight seconds in.
Marchand scored his 28th goal of the season after Brett Connolly won an offensive-zone faceoff and passed the puck back to the Bruins winger, whose wrist shot beat Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. It was his seventh straight game with a goal and his 13th tally in his last 13 contests. Oh, and it also was the fastest goal to start a game in team history.
Not a bad start. Not bad at all.
