Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Tight end Martellus Bennett didn’t stand out on the field in the New England Patriots’ 34-16 divisional round win over the Houston Texans on Saturday night, but he was in playoff form after the game. Bennett delivered some of his best lines of the season during his post-game scrum. Here’s what Marty had to say after his one-catch, 4-yard performance. On an “ugly win”: “An ugly date is better than no date.” On his tendency to stay down after an injury but pop back up and come back into the game quickly: “Luke Cage. I always think about Luke Cage. When I get to the sideline, everyone’s like, ‘What would Luke Cage do?’ I’m like, ‘(Expletive), I have to go back out

Patriots Vs. Texans Notes: Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan Carry Receiving Corps
by Zack Cox on Sun, Jan 15, 2017 at 2:30AM 3,765 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — For the sixth time in as many seasons, the New England Patriots find themselves one win away from the Super Bowl. Saturday night’s 34-16 victory over the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium extended the Patriots’ streak of consecutive championship game appearances to a half-dozen, breaking the previous NFL record of five set by the 1970s Oakland Raiders. Predictably, that record wasn’t at the forefront of Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s mind when he addressed the media after the game. “I mean, it’s great to be playing at this time of year,” Belichick said. “You’re one of four teams that are left after the weekend. But again, I mean, I don’t really
Patriots Vs. Texans Inactives: Danny Amendola Back After Four-Game Absence
by Zack Cox on Sat, Jan 14, 2017 at 6:53PM 2,418 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Danny Amendola will make his return to the New England Patriots’ lineup in Saturday’s divisional-round playoff game against the Houston Texans. Amendola, who missed the final four games of the regular season with a high ankle sprain, was not among the seven Patriots inactives announced 90 minutes before kickoff. Fellow wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell headlined that list, as he was ruled out with a knee injury. Safety Jordan Richards, quarterback Jacoby Brissett, tackle LaAdrian Waddle, running back D.J. Foster and cornerbacks Cyrus Jones and Justin Coleman also will not play against the Texans. Amendola, who has not played since Week 13, likely will handle punt-return duties for New England. Duke’s Grayson Allen Gets Tangled Up, Smacked In The Face By Louisville Player
Share this: Grayson Allen has been under intense criticism for history of tripping opposing players, but on Saturday the roles were reversed. During the Blue Devils game against Louisville, Allen got tangled up with Cardinals guard Donovan Mitchell. After the two fell to the floor, Mitchell appeared to catch Allen with a smack to the face on his way up. Whether the smack was incidental or not, the sequence of events was rather ironic given Allen’s history of foul play. To add insult to injury, Louisville went on to win the game 78-69. Celtics Wrap: Isaiah Thomas’ Game-Winner Lifts Boston To Thrilling 103-101 Win
Share this: It felt like déjà vu for the Boston Celtics on Friday, as they saw a commanding double-digit lead evaporate in the closing minutes against the Atlanta Hawks just a few days after they completely collapsed against the Toronto Raptors. But this chapter had a different ending. Isaiah Thomas (28 points) took over late with 13 fourth-quarter points, two of which came on the game-winning basket in the C’s 103-101 win at Philips Arena. Kelly Olynyk (26 points, eight rebounds) and Jae Crowder (18 points, nine rebounds) also chipped in with key offensive performances for the Celtics, while Paul Millsap and Tim Hardaway Jr. led the way for the Hawks with 23 points each. With the win, Boston improved to 25-15, while Atlanta dropped to 22-17. Here’s how it all went
Tuukka Rask Returns To Practice After Leaving Thursday’s Game With Injury

Rask was forced to leave the game in the first period after taking a puck to the neck. However, he returned to practice Friday and said it wasn’t as bad as it looked.
