Share this: THOMPSON, CONN. — Scott Speed has competed in some of the top motorsport series in the world, from Formula One to NASCAR, but he’s found a home in Red Bull Global Rallycross, thanks to the sport’s fan-friendly atmosphere. Much like NASCAR, though arguably more so, Red Bull GRC lets you get up close to your favorite cars and drivers. That “unbelievable” access is something Speed says makes the up-and-coming series so appealing, and not just to race fans. If you’ve ever watched some of Kyle Busch’s post-race press conferences, you know racing drivers don’t always like being in the spotlight. However, Speed says the open nature of the paddock is what makes GRC so enjoyable for the drivers. NESN Fuel’s Pat McAssey

Watch MMA Fighter Respond To Opponent’s Taunt With Vicious KO Kick To Face
Share this: There’s nothing wrong with talking a little trash — unless, of course, you get kicked in the face immediately afterward. Jordan Powell learned that lesson the hard way Friday night. The MMA fighter squared off against Dominick Reyes at Legacy Fight Alliance 13 in Burbank, Calif., and was feeling pretty good about himself after dodging a flurry of Reyes’ punches in the first round. In fact, Powell felt so good that he decided to shake his head in Reyes’ direction. Bad move. Instant karma, indeed. A split-second after Powell shook his head, “No,” Reyes uncorked a lethal “Yes” reply in the form of a knockout kick to the temple. Suffice it to say, Powell didn’t get back up, and all Reyes had to do was
Sixers’ Jerry Colangelo Reveals Telling Opinion On Lonzo, LaVar Ball
Share this: For better or worse, the full scouting report on Lonzo Ball involves more than just Lonzo Ball. We’re talking, of course, about Ball’s larger-than-life father, LaVar, who can’t seem to get out of his son’s way as he pursues his NBA dream. Case in point: Philadelphia 76ers special adviser Jerry Colangelo was asked Friday for his thoughts on Ball, who reportedly is considering working out for the Sixers ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft. “I think Ball is a terrific prospect and could have an outstanding NBA future,” Colangelo told the “Carlin and Reese” radio show on Philly’s 94 WIP, via ESPN.com. “I think it’s going to be challenging with the people around him, without being specific.” Translation: Ball is a great
Red Sox Notes: Boston’s Offense Struggles To Produce Hits In Loss To Orioles
Share this: One night after the Boston Red Sox exploded for four runs in the ninth inning in what ultimately was a failed comeback attempt, the Sox couldn’t muster a similar stretch Friday against the Baltimore Orioles. Boston only recorded four hits in Friday’s 3-2 loss at Camden Yards, and it only had one baserunner through five innings. Luckily for the Sox, that baserunner was Pablo Sandoval on a solo home run. But other than that, O’s starter Alec Asher and the Baltimore bullpen mostly stymied the Red Sox’s bats. “Give credit to Asher,” Boston manager John Farrell said, as aired on NESN’s postgame coverage. “… He pitched all four quadrants of the strike zone. He elevated his fastball on guys in our lineup
Jackie Bradley Jr. Cites Lack Of Aggressiveness As Factor In Red Sox Loss
Share this: The Boston Red Sox’s bats have seen better days. Boston’s offense struggled mightily Friday night against the Baltimore Orioles, as it only had four hits in a 3-2 loss at Camden Yards. Orioles starter Alec Asher stymied the Red Sox over 6 1/3 innings of work, only allowing the two runs on three hits with five strikeouts. Jackie Bradley Jr. thinks the Sox might have been a little too patient with Asher, who pounded the strike zone throughout his outing. One of those GMs is the Boston Bruins’ Don Sweeney, who Friday talked about the draft and more in the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. More Stories Source link
Tom Brady Could Have Been One Of MLB’s Greatest Catchers, Ex-GM Claims
Share this: Tom Brady has made a remarkable living delivering strikes to receivers. But what if his intended targets were shortstops and second basemen instead of NFL pass-catchers? The New England Patriots quarterback, as some already know, was a stud baseball player at Junipero Serra High School in addition to excelling at football. In fact, Brady was so prolific on the diamond as a left-handed hitting catcher that he actually was drafted by a Major League Baseball team. Exactly 22 years ago Friday, the Montreal Expos selected Brady in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft. So, what did the Expos see in Brady? A heck of a lot, according to Montreal’s general manager at the time, Kevin Malone. “I think he could
