Bagnaia vs Marquez: will the battle continue in Jerez?
Bagnaia did it as a rookie last season, and he’ll have that extra bounce in his step to add to his race wins and the fact he’s leading the Championship. But he won’t have the crowd behind him, with Marquez now racing on home turf for the first time this season. In 2017, too, Jerez was his first big statement of the year. Taking off from pole and uncatchably fast throughout the weekend and race, Marquez dominated the venue for his first win. Bagnaia arrives with good memories, but Marquez’s are even better. More points for KTM in Texas
Despite the wrong tyre choice, Smith reflected positively on his weekend in Austin, as he looks forward to the next round in Jerez. “We learn from this one, the soft was the right choice for our bike here, and we go to Europe. The whole weekend has been better than it was in the first couple of races, we were fighting where we thought we could be, I thought in the beginning of the race I showed what I can do, and now we just need to put the pieces together for the full race distance.” Source link
Crutchlow: “We have better pace than guys around us”
“My team has done a fantastic job over the weekend and worked very hard, I feel competitive, we can be on the podium tomorrow but starting seventh has made it very difficult through something that isn’t our fault. So now we have to look ahead to tomorrow, and see what we can do because again I feel competitive, another weekend where I feel competitive, and we have better pace than the other guys around us. Let’s see.” Source link
Rossi: “The only thing to do is look forward”
“The only thing to do now is look to the future and think about this weekend,” says the nine-time World Champion. “I think it’s important to get back on track, ride the motorcycle, to try to get the maximum and work with the team. I’m very happy to be here. Also because this track is very difficult, so you have a lot of work, it’s very long with a lot of corners – so we have to think about that. Do our work, and try the maximum” Source link
