“The battle is on fire”: MotorLand revs up for MotoGP™

First to speak was Marquez, who talked through the race weekend – but also highlighted the importance of avoiding mistakes as the clock continues its countdown to Valencia: “The battle is on fire. Five races to go, equal points with Dovi and also Viñales is very close. Valentino has come back, Dani is not far - we’ll keep pushing to the end but at the moment we’re at Aragon, one of my favourites circuits so we’ll see how we can manage the situation throughout the weekend. We’ll try to fight for the victory on Sunday. It looks like the forecast for tomorrow isn’t the best but then good on Saturday and Sunday. The good thing for me is that I’ve

#StatAttack: MotoGP™ & MotorLand

- Spanish riders have had great success across all three GP classes at Aragon, winning 15 of the 21 GP races that have taken place. The only non-Spanish riders who have had a win at the circuit are: Casey Stoner (MotoGP™ in 2010 & 2011), Andrea Iannone (Moto2™ in 2010), Romano Fenati (Moto3™ in 2014), Miguel Oliveira (Moto3™ in 2015) and Sam Lowes (Moto2™ last year). In the balance: can MotorLand tip the scales?

From the Rimini Riviera to the arid landscape of Aragon, Misano and MotorLand Aragon hail two very different challenges for the grid – in two very different settings. Winding up from the coast of Catalunya into the province of Teruel, the blue of the Mediterranean fades as the spectacular town of Alcañiz comes into view. Here, racing is woven into the history of the town – and MotorLand Aragon is its modern outpost. Technical, challenging and world class, it’s a canvas that has been splashed with both incredible victory and unassailable defeat, and one that once again could stage one of the tipping points of the season in 2017. Equal points, equal wins, and everything in the balance. Source link

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2™ prepare for last leg of the season

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2™ team kept themselves busy after the San Marino GP – completing a two-day test at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia. Barber Motorsports Park braces for big MotoAmerica finale

If you think the Superstock 600 title chase is close, how does one point between three riders sound? That’s the situation in the KTM RC Cup, which will race for the final time this weekend as it becomes the Junior Cup next season and not a spec-class. With his four wins, Quarterley Racing/On Track Development’s Benjamin Smith comes into Barber tied for the championship lead with three-time winner Cory Ventura. That’s right, tied. But it gets better. JP43 Junior Team’s Alex Dumas, the hottest rider in the series with four straight wins, comes to Alabama just one point behind the other two. One point. That run for the title will go down to the final lap of the final race

Van der Mark to replace Rossi at Aragon

Lin Jarvis, Managing Director - Yamaha Motor Racing: "Following Valentino’s crash on Thursday, August 31st, Yamaha decided not to replace him at the San Marino Grand Prix, but for the next Grand Prix in Aragón the team is obliged to enter two riders. It being virtually impossible for Valentino to be fit to race in Aragón, Yamaha decided to search for a capable replacement from within its own pool of contracted riders. Having previously used Katsuyuki Nakasuga to fill in for Jorge Lorenzo in 2011 and Alex Lowes to replace Bradley Smith in 2016, we decided that Michael van der Mark should have the opportunity this time around. It is never easy to step in to replace another rider and

“Race by race”: the Press Conference kicks off Misano

Back to the home heroes, Andrea Iannone was another in attendance getting ready for the second round on Italian soil. Sitting out the race last season due to injury, the ‘Maniac’ is back this year and wants to get a solid result in a difficult season: “It’s a very difficult season for us. I hope in these last six races we improve the performance a bit. It’s very difficult for me to talk about the situation, we always try our best, in the garage and on track – and me at home, in the gym I try every day to improve. But it’s difficult at the moment, the feeling with the bike for me, and I struggle a lot. But I
