Marquez: “Good to save myself for Sunday”
Marc Marquez (P1): “In the morning I didn’t feel very well - I’ve had gastroenteritis for the last two days - but I was able to go out and ride even though I was not at 100%. After the session and the effort I put in, I began feeling worse, because gastroenteritis also dehydrates you. Looking at the track conditions, we decided not to go out. Tomorrow we’ll try to improve and I think it has been good for me not go out there, and to instead save myself for Saturday and especially Sunday.” Source link
Lorenzo: “I‘m not expecting issues with tyre temperature"
Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) had a tough weekend in Phillip Island that saw him take home P6 in cooler temperatures. Struggling to warm up the tyres has been an issue for some in 2016, but the heat of Sepang International Circuit is sure to go a long way to counteract the issue for those affected – as well as creating the daunting physical challenge of the 40 minute race in extreme conditions. We stepped back to what we had yesterday during the couple of minutes when the track was dry and it was great. My start was really good, I tried to get away, maintaining my pace but Pasini and then Morbidelli managed to stay with me. Each time I crossed the line I saw that the gap was very small, 1 tenth, 1

Hayden in for Pedrosa at Phillip Island
Nicky Hayden: “First of all my best wishes to Dani, I’m sure he will come back stronger than ever like he always does. For me it’s crazy hard work but it’s a chance, ten year after winning my World Title, to get back to my old “dream team”! Doing a week-end in Phillip Island on a factory Honda, it’s pretty emotional for me to even think about it, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity and the trust that Honda gives me. I want also to thank my current team for allowing me to go and do this, and the sponsors. Everybody worked a lot on every detail to make it possible for me so now I’m excited to get
