MLB Rumors: Red Sox Sign Ex-Mets Reliever Jenrry Mejia To Minor-League Deal

The Red Sox added some bullpen depth to their minor-leagues Tuesday with a high-upside signing. Boston signed embattled ex-New York Mets reliever Jennry Mejia to a minor league deal, according to FanCred’s Jon Heyman and USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. His deal comes with an invite to spring training and is worth $ 625 thousand if he makes the big league club, per Heyman. Mejia isn’t exactly known for the best reasons around baseball, because in Feb. 2016 he was the first player to ever receive a lifetime ban due to failing three performance-enhancing drug tests. He was successful in applying for reinstatement, getting the league’s approval in July ... NESN.com

NFL Rumors: Steelers ‘Exploring Trade Options’ For Antonio Brown; Return Possible

The Antonio Brown saga continues to be one of the biggest stories in the NFL long after the Pittsburgh Steelers’ last snap of the season. The story continues to unfold as the league heads into Super Bowl weekend, with NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reporting that the Steelers are “exploring trade options” for the disgruntled wide receiver. On the other side of the coin, Rapoport reported that Brown also has not ruled out a return to the Steel City. We suppose anything is possible, although it does seem unlikely that the Steelers will be able to resolve the broken relationship with their star wide receiver that cast a dark cloud over the

Harry Potter Rips Tom Brady, Wants Patriots To Lose In Super Bowl LIII

Daniel Radcliffe might want to take some Polyjuice Potion next time he’s in New England. Back in 2014, the “Harry Potter” named Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as one of his heroes. But much has changed since then, so much so that Radcliffe actually is rooting for the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. Why? Well, it all goes back to the fall of 2015, when a certain hat appeared in Brady’s locker. “Take that ‘MAGA’ hat out of your locker,” Radcliffe said during a recent interview at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. “I feel like that was the moment when, as a country, we were

Brad Stevens Has Great Reaction To Kyrie Irving’s Sixth All-Star Nod

Another year, another All-Star selection for Kyrie Irving. The Boston Celtics point guard was named an All-Star for the sixth time Thursday, meaning he’s earned the honor in all but two seasons in his NBA career. For head coach Brad Stevens, Irving’s already loaded résumé has become somewhat comical. “He’s an incredible player,” Stevens said Friday, as captured by MassLive. “Hats off to him for getting (to) another All-Star Game. Six All-Star Games by the time you’re 26 is a joke. Pretty special, and it’s not easy for these guys — we talk about this all the time — to put on that cape every day. If you’re that consistent and that ... NESN.com

Super Bowl LIII: Patriots Could Take Advantage Of Rams With This Personnel Grouping

When the New England Patriots needed pivotal yards in the AFC Championship Game, they leaned on their best, most important players. As has been the case time and time again, quarterback Tom Brady connected with wide receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Rob Gronkowski, as the Patriots offense didn’t even let the Kansas City Chiefs touch the ball in overtime en route to a Super Bowl-clinching win. And while it was the air attack that helped convert three (!) third-and-10 situations in the extra frame, New England actually went run-heavy upon reaching the red zone: three Rex Burkhead runs, 15 yards, ballgame. Two of the three Burkhead runs to end... NESN.com
