The Boston Red Sox had their opportunities Friday night. The Red Sox fell 3-2 to the Oakland Athletics in extra innings, and their offense will lament the missed opportunities. Boston went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position Friday night and saw rallies in the fifth, seventh and ninth innings fizzle, as the offense failed to produce a big hit. Haas F1 Car Gets Black-Tie Makeover To Fit In With Monaco Jet Setters
The Monaco Grand Prix is the most star-studded race on the Formula One schedule, so to fit in with the A-listers, Haas F1 Team gave its VF-17 a new formal livery. Haas tweeted a GIF on Thursday revealing that Kevin Magnussen’s No. 20 and Romain Grosjean’s No. 8 will look slightly different when they take to the streets of Monte Carlo. All 20 F1 teams modify their cars with Monaco-specific parts, such as special steering racks to navigate the tight hairpin, but Haas is the only one to fit its racers with tuxedos too. The changes to Haas’ livery are subtle, but they literally are made to look the cars look more formal. Haas replaced
Photo Of LeBron James, Isaiah Thomas Perfectly Describes Cavs-Celtics Game 1
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals wasn’t pretty for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics entered the game riding high after advancing past the Washington Wizards and earning the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but that enthusiasm did little to stop the Cavaliers in Cleveland’s 117-104 win at TD Garden. There were plenty of examples of the Cavs overpowering the Celtics throughout the game, but none can top what LeBron James did to Isaiah Thomas on this play. Ouch. Maybe Thomas and the C’s will have more luck Friday night in Game 2. Thumbnail photo via Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports Images

Kelly Olynyk Just Earned A Place Alongside John Havlicek In Celtics History
John Havlicek stealing the ball is one of the most iconic moments in Boston Celtics history. But on Monday night, the Basketball Hall of Famer was equaled by none other than Kelly Olynyk. (On paper, at least.) How is this possible? Well, Olynyk tallied 26 points off the bench in Boston’s series-clinching, Game 7 win over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. That’s the most points by a Celtics reserve player in a postseason Game 7 since — you guessed it — Havlicek, who dropped 26 points off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals. Olynyk’s 26 points also were the most by any NBA reserve in a
NASCAR Fans Get ‘Rowdy,’ Rip Kyle Busch For Driving In Truck Series
NASCAR’s National series are intended to help young, up-and-coming drivers develop their skills with hopes of one day making the jump to the highest level. It might be hard these drivers to have success, though, if one of the top racers on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is always coming down to hog victory lane. We’re talking, of course, about Kyle Busch. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has no wins on the Cup level this season, but has taken a checkered flag in the both Xfinity Series and, after his performance at Kansas Speedway on Friday, the Camping World Truck Series. But Busch’s victory in the Toyota Tundra 250 didn’t exactly sit
Celtics Believe Home-Court Advantage Will Play Pivotal Role In Game 7
The Boston Celtics went after the best record in the NBA’s Eastern Conference exactly for this reason. The Celtics will face the Washington Wizards in a winner-take-all Game 7 on Monday night, and they’ll be playing the game on their home court thanks to that record. NESN.com’s Courtney Cox caught up with Isaiah Thomas, Al Horford and Avery Bradley at practice Sunday, and the C’s believe that the crowd at TD Garden will give them a huge boost in the biggest game of their season.
