Bruins Wrap: B’s Comeback Falls Short in 6-5 Loss To Maple Leafs

The Boston Bruins couldn’t get back in the win column Saturday night as they lost a hard-fought 6-5 battle to the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden. The B’s got on the board first before surrendering four straight goals to fall behind 4-1. Boston didn’t quit, however, as they stormed back to tie the game at four, and then again at five, before falling 6-5 on a goal with under two minutes remaining. David Pastrnak scored two goals for the Bruins, and rookie William Nylander notched a hat trick for the Maple Leafs. The Bruins fall to 26-23-6 with the loss, while the Maple Leafs improve to 24-17-9 with the victory. Here’s how

Tom Brady Showcases Competitiveness While Playing Video Games On ‘Conan’

Tom Brady doesn’t seem like a video games kind of guy, but he certainly is a competition guy. The New England Patriots quarterback took some time away from preparing for Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons to hang out and play video games with TV host (and Massachusetts native) Conan O’Brien for the “Clueless Gamer” segment on “Conan.” It’s actually a pretty fascinating video, as the often publicly reserved Brady let down his guard. In the process, we got his fashion critique of Bill Belichick — “He doesn’t give a sh-t” — and also saw his competitive side on full display. Even taking on a late-night TV host in a video game he’... NESN.com

Ray Lewis Thinks Tom Brady Still Is Motivated By Deflategate Before Super Bowl LI

Tom Brady says he’s totally over Deflategate, but is he really? The New England Patriots quarterback served his four-game suspension to begin the 2016 NFL season and claimed the situation was behind him long before the Pats made it to Super Bowl LI. But former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis thinks Brady is just trying to play nice with the NFL’s top brass. “It’s funny because any true competitor never lets nothing go,” Lewis said Wednesday, per FOXSports.com “Like, it’s never let go. I don’t care what nobody does to you. “I’m telling you, I’ll never forget … in the ninth grade this... NESN.com

Celtics Wrap: ‘King In The Fourth’ Isaiah Thomas Leads Boston To Comeback Win

The Boston Celtics looked like they were going to lose once again to the Toronto Raptors, even without an injured DeMar DeRozan playing. Then the fourth quarter happened. The C’s came storming back from a double-digit deficit Wednesday night at TD Garden to top the Raptors 109-104 and take a 1.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division and for the Eastern Conference’s No. 2 seed. Isaiah Thomas, aka “The King in the Fourth,” had 44 points, including 19 fourth-quarter points. Jae Crowder (12 points, eight rebounds), Marcus Smart (10 points) and Al Horford (11 points) were the other C’s in double-figures. Kyle Lowry led the Raptors with 32 po... NESN.com

Claude Julien Pleased With Bruins’ Adjustments In 4-3 Win Over Lightning

The Boston Bruins picked up a crucial two points Tuesday night with a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. The game was tied 0-0 after the first 20 minutes, but the B’s outscored the Lightning 2-1 in the second period en route to their third straight win. “They were a little grittier than we were,” coach Claude Julien said on “Bruins Overtime Live.” “They were a little bit more physical and they were coming at us, so we had to adjust. I thought our D’s got better in the second period, our forecheck, neutral zone forecheck got a lot better, but also the forecheck in the first period was nonexistent. “All

Super Bowl LI Opening Night Features Character Of All Shapes And Sizes

Super Bowl Opening Night, otherwise known as “media day”, is one of the wackiest days on the sports media calendar every year. Super Bowl LI’s Opening Night certainly lived up to the hype. The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons answered questions for an hour each but that was only half the story as characters of all shapes and sizes roamed the crowd. Some Of World’s Smartest Students Tested Pods On SpaceX Hyperloop Track

And you thought your eighth-grade science fair went well. Well, maybe it did. But chances are it wasn’t as cool testing Hyperloop Pods on a test track at SpaceX headquarters. That privilege was reserved for teams of students from Delft University in the Netherlands, the Technical University of Munich and Massachusetts Institute of Technology who got to test their prototype pods on the SpaceX track during the weekend, according to Popular Mechanics. The three teams emerged from a field of 30 that recently competed for the chance to try their pods on the mile-long track. The teams were tested on a variety of criteria and scored by SpaceX engineers. W... NESN.com
