A ComEd substation caught fireplace Thursday in Goose Island on the North Side.
Fire crews had been notified of the blaze about midnight on the substation within the 1100 block of North North Branch Street, Chicago fireplace officers mentioned. It was struck out over an hour later after fireplace crews sprayed foam on it.
No one was injured within the fireplace, officers mentioned. The extent of any property harm was not instantly recognized.
ComEd shouldn’t be reporting any critical energy outages within the space.
