Cowboys Running Back Felix Jones Could Miss One Month With High-Ankle Sprain

As if the Dallas Cowboys weren’t having enough problems, it now looks like they will be without starting running back Felix Jones for as long as a month.

Jones injured his ankle during the first half of the Cowboys loss to the Patiots on Sunday and could miss substantial time, according to a report on NFL.com. Jones has been already ruled out for next Sunday’s game against the Rams.

This is not the first time Jones has been hurt this season. He dislocated his shoulder in a Week 2 win over the 49ers, but he has played through the injury.

The injury means DeMarco Murray and Tashard Choice will receive the bulk of the workload while Jones is on the sideline. Choice was on the trading block following Sunday’s game, but he will likely stay with Cowboys after the team learned the severity of Jones’ injury.

The Cowboys have received inconsistent production out of Jones so far this season. He is averging 4.0 yards per carry and has just one touchdown.
