Evanston home hearth kills canine


A fireplace at an unoccupied residence killed a household canine Wednesday in north suburban Evanston.

Firefighters had been referred to as to the house within the 1000 block of Mulford Street about 4:25 p.m. for studies of smoke coming from the roof and home windows, Evanston hearth officers mentioned.

When they arrived, they discovered a hearth within the first ground kitchen that had already begun to unfold to the second ground, officers mentioned.

No one was residence on the time, however a pet canine trapped in the home died of smoke inhalation, officers mentioned. No different accidents to civilians or firefighters had been reported.

The reason for the hearth continues to be underneath investigation. The extent of the harm was not instantly identified.
