Jamaal Charles Reportedly Placed On Injured Reserve By Chiefs After Setback

Jamaal Charles’ injury setbacks reportedly just got even worse.

The Kansas City Chiefs placed the running back on injured reserve Tuesday, a league source told ESPN’s Field Yates. Charles suffered a torn ACL last season, and the move Tuesday came after he felt soreness in his right knee, according to ESPN. Chiefs coach Andy Reid also said Charles saw surgeon Dr. James Andrews on Monday after missing Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Charles will have to remain on injured reserve for eight weeks, which means he still could play again this regular season and in the playoffs, if the Chiefs make it. It’s still unclear whether that would happen, though.

Charles only has played in parts of three games this season. He’s rushed for 40 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown.
