Luke Kuechly Returns To Boston College For Number Retirement Ceremony

The No. 40 never will be worn again by a Boston College football player.

The Eagles will retire former linebacker Luke Kuechly’s number Saturday, and it’s certainly a well-deserved distinction. Kuechly, who has gone on to be one of the most feared linebackers in the NFL, set the school record for tackles with 523 in just three seasons from 2009-11, and he also won the 2011 Butkus Award as the best linebacker in college football.

Hear from the Carolina Panthers star and BC legend Doug Flutie in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank, above.
