Mancini: Balotelli will have to wait his chance

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says that Mario Balotelli will have to wait for his chance as he juggles four top class strikers at the club.

Balotelli, 21, has only played in one game so far this season (coming off the bench) and is suspended for the club’s Champions League debut against Napoli as he was sent off at the end of City’s Europa League campaign last season.

But Mancini insists that Balotelli will have to wait his turn when he comes back.

”I count myself very lucky to rely on four strikers, especially in a situation where the team needs to play every three days. I can have a good turnover of the strikers,” said Mancini. ”For now Mario will have to adapt to the situation, he will not be playing for the next few matches.”

Last season’s top scorer Carlos Tevez is still an important part of Mancini’s plans, despite his threats to quit the club this summer and the Italian claims that his former captain has no need to prove himself.

”Dzeko and Aguero are great players and Tevez has nothing to be afraid of,” he added. ”He is a player who always gives 100% performance and doesn’t need to prove himself. He has already done so.”
