There was once a time when Randy Moss was sure he was going to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
The former New England Patriots wide receiver said in an interview with FOX Sports that prior to the 1998 NFL draft, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told him that they would select him with their No.-8 pick if he was still available. But for Moss, it was meeting Deion Sanders that really made him want to be a Cowboy.
In a rather amusing animated video, Moss recalled how the Cowboys arranged for him to have dinner at the star cornerback’s house. Moss said he was so excited that “you could have melted me and put me in a cup.”
Of course, the Cowboys ended up passing on Moss, selecting instead defensive end Greg Ellis, who spent 11 seasons with the team. Moss was selected 21st overall by the Minnesota Vikings, but at least he still has fond memories of meeting his favorite player.
