The Boston Red Sox badly needed a quality outing from starting pitcher Steven Wright on Friday night and they got exactly that.
Wright pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one run (unearned) as the Sox cruised to a 6-2 win over the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Boston had lost four of its past five games entering Friday.
