Semyon Varlamov’s Shaky Start To Season Costing Avalanche Out Of Gates

The Colorado Avalanche have struggled scoring goals this season, but even if they could score that might not be enough to overcome Semyon Varlamov’s awful start.

The Avalanche goalie is 3-6-0 with a putrid 3.47 goals against average and .882 save percentage. Meanwhile, His backup, Calvin Pickard, has done much better with a 3-1-0 record, 2.08 goals against average and .923 save percentage.

Hear NESN’s Dale Arnold and Billy Jaffe break down the Avalanche’s goalie woes ahead of their game Sunday against the Boston Bruins in the video from “Bruins Face-Off Live” above.
