The high esteem J.J. Watt’s peers have for him is puzzling. The Houston Texans defensive end is ranked 35th on the NFL Network’s “Top 100” players list in 2017. But he ripped the annual list Monday, telling his Twitter followers they shouldn’t read too much into the pecking order. Watt spent most of the 2016 season on injured reserve due to a back injury. However, He was No. 3 on the 2016 Top 100 and No. 1 in 2015. The players whose votes determine “Top 100” rankings obviously didn’t forget the impact Watt can make on the field. Even if his previous standings seem to have slipped his mind.

Courtney Force Wins NHRA Qualifying Despite Huge Engine Explosion
Share this: Blown engines and success usually are mutually exclusive in racing — just ask Fernando Alonso. But that script was flipped by Courtney Force on Friday. During her first qualifying attempt for the NHRA New England Nationals in New Hampshire, the 28-year-old force experienced a massive engine explosion in her Advanced Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car. It mattered not, though, as Force still managed to post the top qualifying speed at 331.53 mph. Despite the ugly incident, Force was able to walk away from wreck, and eventually was cleared by the NHRA medical staff, according to For The Win. Didn't expect to be driving a @TeamChevy convertible at 330mph after my fuel line burst. 🔥But we stayed #1 qualifier for @AdvanceAuto team! — Courtney

Newly minted holders Real Madrid are among eight teams seeded in Pot 1 for the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on 24 August along with the returning Spartak Moskva and, following Saturday's result in Cardiff, Shakhtar Donetsk, as 22 clubs are now confirmed for next season's competition. Thanks to a system that began in 2015/16, Pot 1 for the group stage draw is formed by the holders and the champions of the top seven national associations as per the UEFA association club coefficient rankings at the end of season 2015/16 that formed the 2017/18 access list. But since Madrid won both
Martellus Bennett Goes Off On Jason Whitlock Over Comments On LeBron James, Race
Share this: Jason Whitlock angered plenty of black athletes with his comments on LeBron James and racism, but Martellus Bennett wasn’t about to let the FOX Sports 1 personality get off so easily. Whitlock appeared on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Thursday and talked about the racism James experienced when someone spray painted the N-word on the gate of his Los Angeles home Wednesday. But Whitlock apparently believes James is too wealthy to actually experience racism. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith and Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler both chimed in on Twitter, but Bennett went in on Whitlock’s take. (Warning: There’s a lot of strong language in Bennett’s tweets.) To say that it's not someone's fight because they're rich is just ridiculous. Racism doesn't care
