NBA Rumors: Cavs, T-Wolves Enter Jimmy Butler Trade Talks With Bulls

Share this: The entire NBA might be interesting in trading for Chicago Bulls superstar Jimmy Butler by the end of the week. ESPN’s Marc Stein and The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday a few new teams who’ve entered the fray to acquire Butler, including the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sources: Chicago’s price for Jimmy Butler remains elevated, but Minnesota has assets and interest. Sides made preliminary contact this week. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 19, 2017 The Cavaliers, per league sources, have been working today on assembling multi-team trade scenarios to try to acquire Chicago's Jimmy Butler — Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 19, 2017 The Cavs obviously have to rope in at least one more team to provide the assets Chicago would surely demand but, sources say, are trying. —

Red Sox Notes: Boston Makes Statement With Series Win Over Astros

Share this: The Boston Red Sox have had an up-and-down season thus far, but a successful weekend trip to Houston has the Sox riding high. Boston took two of three games from the Major League Baseball-best Astros, capped off by a gritty 6-5 win Sunday night at Minute Maid Park. The Father’s Day victory, especially, showed signs of what the Red Sox are capable of. They received a mediocre performance out of starter David Price, and the bullpen wasn’t as strong as it has been of late. Even Craig Kimbrel veered from his dominant self with a shaky ninth inning. But thanks to timely hitting and strong defense, Boston overcame its faults to earn one of its most impressive victories of the 2017 season. And

NBA Rumors: Celtics, 76ers Agree To Trade For No. 1 Pick, Will Finalize Monday

Share this: UPDATE (11:30 p.m. ET): There has been a bit of a plot twist. Instead of getting three first-round draft picks from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics will get two, and the second will depend on protections, according to multiple reports. According to league source, Celtics will receive the No. 3 overall pick this year & a protected future first-round pick from Philly, not two — Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) June 18, 2017 Clarification on deal: Besides its 2017 FRP, Philly sends '18 Lakers pick w/ protections. If it doesn't convey, 76ers send 2019 Kings pick. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 18, 2017 Celtics will get Lakers pick if it falls between 2

Stephen Curry Says He Probably Wouldn’t Visit Donald Trump, White House

Share this: After another dominant regular season, the Golden State Warriors won their second NBA title in three years. With a championship in any major professional sport, it usually comes with a trip to the White House in Washington D.C. to be congratulated by the president of the United States, who currently is Donald Trump. There sometimes are a few individuals who decline the offer, which is their absolute right. And Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry, like teammate Andre Iguodala, apparently has become a part of that group, as reported Wednesday. Steph Curry just said he probably wouldn't go to the White House — Marcus Thompson (@ThompsonScribe) June 14, 2017 Curry said the team still has to discuss the White House visit. But he has

Red Sox Draft Tracker: Who Did Boston Pick In 2017 MLB Draft?

The Boston Red Sox have seen their early-round draft selections make an impact at the major league level much sooner than anticipated. Andrew Benintendi, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft, already has become a staple in the Red Sox’s lineup and is poised to be a part of a dynamic outfield with fellow Boston draft picks Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr. for quite some time. Starting Monday, the Red Sox will add a new group of prospects in the 2017 MLB draft. It could be some time before you see these players in action at Fenway Park, but they certainly will be names to keep an eye on

Red Sox Notes: Boston’s Bullpen Comes Up Big For Second Straight Night

Share this: With the Boston Red Sox playing three straight four-hour games and back-to-back extra-inning affairs, the team needed help from its bullpen toward the end of the current homestand. And the bullpen delivered. The Sox’s relievers combined to pitch 11 scoreless innings in Boston’s two wins over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday and Tuesday, including six frames in Tuesday’s 4-3 12-inning victory at Fenway Park. Boston left-handed starter David Price went the first six innings and allowed three earned runs before turning it over to the bullpen. Robby Scott, Blaine Boyer, Craig Kimbrel, Heath Hembree and Fernando Abad (2-0) then took it from there. There certainly were some close calls for the bullpen, including a deep drive from Maikel Franco that just barely missed
