Heath Evans Makes Convincing Case To Replace Gus Malzahn As Auburn Coach

Heath Evans, like many Auburn fans and alumni, was disgusted with the Tigers’ performance against LSU on Saturday. The former Auburn fullback, though, seems to be directing much of his frustration at one person in particular: head coach Gus Malzahn. No. 10 Auburn got up 20-0 in the second quarter against LSU, but eventually collapsed and fell 27-23 in Baton Rouge, La. Not helping matters was Malzahn, who made a puzzling decision to go for it on fourth down with over two minutes left in the game, his team trailing and deep in their own territory. He also didn’t throw a challenge flag when the LSU timekeeper failed to stop the clock on Auburn’s final

Auburn Football 2011: What About the Rushing Offense This Year?

With the individual training portion of the college football year in full swing, many fans are starved for information on their team. Many media outlets are taking advantage of this by putting out less than reliable information. Fans should keep this in mind when reading any information on their team. As usual some media outlets are pushing Alabama and their “next star” Trent Richardson as the biggest rushing threat in the SEC for next season. Some are even predicting Richardson to be to offensive MVP of the conference. Trent Richardson is a very fine running back that has accumulated 1451 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns over his two seasons at Alabama. He has averaged 5.65 yards per carry during that

Auburn Sponsoring A Car At Talladega

What you see here is the design of a car that NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip will be running at Talladega, Alabama later this month.  As you can see, this paint scheme features the colors and logo of Auburn University and is a tribute to their 2011 National Championship football team.  Some alumni were concerned over what a something like this might cost, but my inside sources tell me that those folks need not worry as this sponsorship shouldn’t affect the team’s payroll one bit.

Unfunny April Fools Jokes (?): Auburn sponsoring Darrel Waltrip at Talladega?

Unless I hear otherwise I'm calling bull on this one. Auburn's official website is reporting that Michael Waltrip's #15 Toyota will feature an Auburn-themed paint scheme for the April 17 Aaron's 500 at Talladega. The date on the press release being April 1, 2010 makes me a little suspicious. Then again, the press release also reports that Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik will be serving in the role of Grand Marshal for the race. And al.com and the Orlando Sentinel are reporting on the story as fact. So I'm just going to file this under the "I'll believe it when I see it" file. (via Orlando Sentinel, al.com)
