Peter Lalor, a cricket author and beer editor for The Australian newspaper, was on a visit to Manchester, England, overlaying cricket when he bought a beer at Malmaison Hotel. But he didn’t understand how a lot it may cost: He paid greater than $68,000 (AU$99,983.64 to be actual, see tweet beneath) for an IPA. In a Twitter thread, he mused it might have been “the most expensive beer in history.” And by Friday, Lalor instructed USA TODAY, he hadn’t but acquired a refund. But some fan in the outfield bleachers at Rogers Centre on Tuesday during the Toronto Blue Jays-Baltimore Orioles American League Wild Card Game apparently didn’t know that. As Orioles left fielder Hyun-Soo Kim went to catch a fly ball for the third out in the bottom of the seventh inning, someone threw a beer can onto the field, and it came dangerously close to hitting him.
