The Boston Bruins have a chance to extend the lead over their NHL rival Saturday night. The Bruins have a slim one-point lead over the Montreal Canadiens in the Atlantic Division and can put a little distance between them with a victory at Bell Centre. This is the second meeting between the historic rivals this season, with Montreal claiming the first game 3-0 on Oct. 27 at TD Garden. Not only does Boston look to even the season series at one game apiece, it hopes to win consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 10-11 after a 2-1 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. The lines look similar to that

Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Red Wings Lines, Pairings
Dreading spending Thanksgiving Eve with your family? Have no fear, the Boston Bruins are here to put your mind at ease for a few hours. The Bruins, minus Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara, will travel to Detroit to face off with the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena in the fourth and final game of what has been a tumultuous road trip for the Black and Gold. Boston has lost Bergeron (sternoclavicular, rib), Chara (knee) and John Moore (lower body) during the last three games, but still has managed to post a 1-1-1 record during that time and can head back home with five of a possible eight points with a win Wednesday.
Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Capitals Lineups
In the second game of a back-to-back, the biggest change for the Boston Bruins will be their choice in goaltender, as Anton Khudobin will get the start Thursday against the Washington Capitals at TD Garden. The decision had been made prior to Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, with Tuukka Rask getting Detroit, and Khudobin handling the Caps. It will be a big test for the Bruins’ backup. After winning four straight starts beginning Nov. 16, the 31-year-old was yanked in his most recent appearance, allowing four goals on 14 shots against the Nashville Predators on Dec. 4. Opposing Khudobin will be Caps netminder Braden Holtby, a wi... NESN.com
Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Panthers Lineups
The Boston Bruins will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Florida Panthers team when the two clubs face off at TD Garden on Saturday afternoon. After hitting a four-game slump in mid-March, the Bruins finished out the month strong by collecting three straight wins, giving them a slightly stronger hold on the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with a three-point lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning. The B’s also are only one point back of the Toronto Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division. The Panthers, on the other hand, are riding a three-game skid into their matchup on Boston’s home ice and are well out of
Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Islanders Lines
The Boston Bruins face one of their biggest tests of the season Saturday night, and they’ll have to do it without their starting goalie. Tuukka Rask is day to day with a lower body injury, and he didn’t travel with the B’s to New York for their showdown with the Islanders. That means backup Anton Khudobin will be in net as the Bruins try to keep pace with the Islanders for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Both teams have 82 points, but New York officially passed Boston for the final playoff spot in the East thanks to its 4-3 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. The B’s now are
Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Red Wings Lineups
The Boston Bruins are coming off a bad 4-0 loss at home to the New York Islanders on Monday afternoon, and they face another important game versus an inferior team in the Detroit Red Wings on the road Wednesday night. Boston sits in second place in the Atlantic Division, but that position is a bit deceiving. The Bruins have a slim 1-point lead on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators in the division, and both of these teams also have five games in hand on the B’s. Therefore, the Bruins must go on some kind of win streak — or at least establish some consistency — to keep pace in a playoff

by Zack Cox on Fri, Jan 15, 2016 at 4:43PM 1,549 David Pastrnak is expected to miss his second consecutive game as the Boston Bruins look to close out their underwhelming five-game road trip on a high note. Pastrnak, who sat out Wednesday’s loss to the Philadelphia Flyers with an upper body injury, reportedly participated in morning skate at the First Niagara Center but is not expected to suit up Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres. “I don’t think he’ll be going again (Friday...
