LeGarrette Blount Vows He’s ‘Not Done Yet’ After ‘NFL Top 100’ Selection

by Zack Cox on Tue, May 9, 2017 at 8:51AM 2,825 Share this: According to his peers, LeGarrette Blount is the NFL’s 80th-best player. He’s also currently out of a job. Despite leading the league in rushing touchdowns last season and posting career highs in all three rushing categories, the former New England Patriots running back remains unsigned two months into free agency. The Patriots opted to get younger at the position, signing free agents Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee, and while the New York Giants and Detroit Lions reportedly have shown interest in Blount, the 30-year-old has yet to land a new deal. He remains determined, however. After his selection to this year’s “NFL Top 100” on Monday night — ahead of ex-Patriots teammates Malcolm

NFL Rumors: LeGarrette Blount Has Offer From Patriots; Mutual Interest In Return

Share this: Even after signing running back Rex Burkhead to a hefty one-year contract, it seems there’s still a good chance the New England Patriots re-sign LeGarrette Blount. Blount has an “offer on the table” from the Patriots, CSNNE’s Mike Giardi reported Friday. Giardi reports there’s mutual interest in a return but money “matters.” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport also reported earlier in the week both sides would prefer a return. Blount, 30, carried the ball 299 times for 1,161 yards with 18 touchdowns in 2016. He also added seven catches for 38 yards. It was by far his best NFL season. He did slow down at the end, averaging just 2.6 yards per carry in his final three regular-season games and 3.1 yards per carry in the

NFL Rumors: Patriots ‘Expect’ To Lose LeGarrette Blount In NFL Free Agency

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount had a career year with the Patriots in 2016, but it doesn’t sound like he will be returning for an encore next season. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said on air Tuesday that there is an “expectation” that Blount will not be back with the Patriots in 2017, according to CSNNE. Blount will become an unrestricted free agent Thursday when the new NFL league year begins. The 30-year-old running back is coming off a season in which he ran for a career-high 1,161 yards and an NFL-leading 18 touchdowns. It was his first season with double-digit touchdowns for the Patriots. If Blount does decide t... NESN.com

LeGarrette Blount Fined $18K For Facemask Of Ndamukong Suh In Patriots-Dolphins

LeGarrette Blount had some harsh criticisms for Ndamukong Suh after last Sunday’s game, but Blount’s wallet will be taking a hit, not Suh’s. The New England Patriots running back was fined $ 18,231 for ripping off Suh’s facemask late in the fourth quarter of his team’s Week 17 game against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. After Blount’s 3-yard rush, Suh appeared to jump on the pile late and give Blount a little shove. The veteran running back took offense, yanking Suh’s helmet off by his facemask and drawing a 15-yard penalty as the teams scuffled. The NFL did not fine Suh, per Reiss. Blount ripped into... Unfortunately for the Steelers, he stuck around until the final whistle Sunday. Playing at Heinz Field for the first time since the Steelers released him in 2014, Blount ran wild against his former team, racking a season-high 127 yards on 24 carries and scoring two of the New England Patriots’ four touchdowns in a 27-16 win. It was third 100-yard effort of the season for the 29-year-old running back, who already has set a new single-season career high for touchdowns with eight. If he keeps up his current pace, he’ll shatter his career
