Share this: BOSTON — LeBron James is one of the craftiest NBA players, and the Cleveland Cavaliers star had his skills on full display at TD Garden on Wednesday night. In the second quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics, James evaded a high trap with a sweet pass, which led to flashy alley-oop from Kyrie Irving to Tristan Thompson. In the Celtics’ defense, it’s not uncommon for James to leave his opponents scratching their head on defense. Thumbnail photo via Greg M. Cooper/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Photo Of LeBron James, Isaiah Thomas Perfectly Describes Cavs-Celtics Game 1
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals wasn’t pretty for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics entered the game riding high after advancing past the Washington Wizards and earning the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but that enthusiasm did little to stop the Cavaliers in Cleveland’s 117-104 win at TD Garden. There were plenty of examples of the Cavs overpowering the Celtics throughout the game, but none can top what LeBron James did to Isaiah Thomas on this play. Ouch. Maybe Thomas and the C’s will have more luck Friday night in Game 2. Thumbnail photo via Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports Images
Kelly Olynyk Just Earned A Place Alongside John Havlicek In Celtics History
John Havlicek stealing the ball is one of the most iconic moments in Boston Celtics history. But on Monday night, the Basketball Hall of Famer was equaled by none other than Kelly Olynyk. (On paper, at least.) How is this possible? Well, Olynyk tallied 26 points off the bench in Boston’s series-clinching, Game 7 win over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. That’s the most points by a Celtics reserve player in a postseason Game 7 since — you guessed it — Havlicek, who dropped 26 points off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals. Olynyk’s 26 points also were the most by any NBA reserve in a
Bradley Beal Commits Oscar-Worthy Flop During Wizards Vs. Celtics Game 7
Share this: low-light nesn Bradley Beal’s flop in Monday’s Game 7 wasn’t quite as ridiculous as his one from earlier in the Eastern Conference semifinal series, but it still was pretty cringe-worthy. The Wizards guard added another lowlight to his flopping reel with quite the acting job during the first half of the Boston Celtics’ matchup with Washington at TD Garden. Avery Bradley came over to set a pick, and Beal took it from there. That was Oscar-worthy. Meanwhile, Marcus Smart, who has had some flopping issues of his own, came up with a potential game-changing block in the first half. Boston Fans Should Like Celtics’ Chances Of Winning NBA Draft Lottery
Share this: The NBA Draft Lottery is Tuesday night, and the Boston Celtics have the best chance to end up with the number one pick. Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck will represent Boston at the NBA Draft lottery, and is the only owner representing their team. The Celtics will not have a pick lower than number four, and they have a pretty good chance of landing the first overall pick. For more on Boston’s chance to win the lottery, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. More Stories Source link
Blake Griffin, Gordon Hayward To Thunder? ‘Area 21’ Stirs Up NBA Rumors
Share this: Kevin Garnett and his former Boston Celtics teammates provided some interesting insight into their dynamic of their squad Monday night during their reunion on KG’s “Area 21” show. But even non-Celtics fans might perk up at some of the other soundbites to come out of the discussion. Near the end of the show, “Area 21” displayed a graphic of notable NBA players who will become free agents this summer. What followed was a steady stream of speculation on where those players will land, with Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Kendrick Perkins offering notable takes. Davis, for one, seemed pretty adamant Blake Griffin is leaving the Los Angeles Clippers, shouting “Blake? He outta there!” in a weird, high-pitched voice. Davis also had a destination in mind for Griffin:
Could Rajon Rondo Play In Game 5? Chris Mannix Not Ruling Bulls Guard Out
The Chicago Bulls’ success in their first-round NBA playoff series has hinged almost exclusively on Rajon Rondo. And while Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg already stated Rondo won’t play in Wednesday’s crucial Game 5 against the Boston Celtics as he heals from a fractured thumb, others aren’t ruling out his early return. During an appearance Tuesday on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich,” Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Mannix cited sources in saying Rondo might be a game-time decision Wednesday at TD Garden. “I don’t think its a foregone conclusion that he doesn’t play (Wednesday) night,” Mannix said, via CBS Boston. “I know Fred...
