Curt Schilling Plans To Challenge Elizabeth Warren For 2018 Senate Bid

Curt Schilling Plans To Challenge Elizabeth Warren For 2018 Senate Bid

Some people believe sports and politics don’t mix. Curt Schilling is not one of those people. The former Boston Red Sox pitcher has been very unfiltered in his political views since retiring from Major League Baseball in 2009, and it appears he’s taking his strong conservative beliefs even further. Schilling announced Tuesday in a radio interview with Rhode Island’s WPRO that he plans to enter Massachusetts’ 2018 Senate race and run against Democrat Elizabeth Warren. Schilling admitted he still needs to talk to his family, so his bid isn’t official yet. But it appears the three-time World Series champion is very serious about enterin... NESN.com

Pedro Martinez Drops Video Of Postseason Dominance That Will Fire Up Red Sox Fans

Pedro Martinez Drops Video Of Postseason Dominance That Will Fire Up Red Sox Fans

Have you given up on the Boston Red Sox? Pedro Martinez hasn’t. The Hall of Fame pitcher and former Red Sox starter was part of some pretty amazing postseason moments for the club that most fans probably will never forget. But with the Red Sox down 0-2 to the Cleveland Indians in their American League Division Series, Martinez made sure the Fenway Faithful had a reminder of what Boston can do. Unfortunately for the Red Sox, vintage Martinez isn’t going to be on the mound at Fenway Park on Sunday for Game 3, but this is still a competitive Boston team. Clay Buchholz will start Sunday against Indians right-hander Josh Tomlin. Thumbnail

Red Sox’s Quest To Get David Ortiz One Last Ring Off To Lackluster Start

Red Sox’s Quest To Get David Ortiz One Last Ring Off To Lackluster Start

Hanley Ramirez revealed in a recent Players’ Tribune post that the Boston Red Sox set a goal in spring training to get David Ortiz a World Series ring in his final season. And so far, that plan is not going not going well at all. Well, it was going well, for a while, at least. The Red Sox surpassed all their expectations in the regular season, pulling themselves out of the American League East’s basement to win the division with a 93-69 record. But since their postseason actually has begun, it’s been a poor showing all-around. Game 1 of their AL Division Series against Cleveland saw ace Rick Porcello give up five runs over

Terry Francona Hurled His Gum At Dustin Pedroia During ALDS Game 1 Intros

Share this: Terry Francona’s bullpen decisions Thursday night gave baseball fans a lot to chew on. But the Cleveland Indians manager still was able to have some fun before things got started. The Indians defeated Francona’s old team, the Boston Red Sox, in Game 1 of the American League Division Series at Progressive Field. Francona still is very close with several Red Sox players, though, including Dustin Pedroia, who played under “Tito” for six seasons from 2006 to 2011. So, just before Game 1 kicked off, Francona decided to engage in some shenanigans with his former second baseman. When he was introduced before the game, Terry Francona shook the hand of John Farrell and then threw his gum at Dustin Pedroia. — Brian MacPherson (@brianmacp)

Ranking Red Sox-Indians ALDS Storylines From Elite Shortstops To Terry Francona

The American League Division Series will go, at most, five games. When you think about it, that doesn’t seem like much, especially after playing 162 games (or 161 in the case of the Cleveland Indians). But even in a relatively short period of time, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into. That’s certainly the case in both American League Division Series, especially with the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays renewing their newfound rivalry … you might have heard what happened last time they met. But there’s no shortage of juicy storylines for the matchup pitting the Boston Red Sox against the Indians. In fact, we went ahead and ranked s... NESN.com

Just continue to play the game we’ve been playing.” Hear what else Betts said in the video above. Thumbnail photo via Winslow Townson/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Here’s How The Red Sox Can Secure (And Lose) ALDS Home-Field Advantage

Share this: BOSTON — Buckle up, folks. The final day of the Major League Baseball season figures to be a doozy. The American League playoff race is extremely cluttered entering Sunday. After Saturday’s results, the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays are tied for both wild-card spots, with the Detroit Tigers trailing by 1 1/2 games. The Texas Rangers have clinched the AL’s No. 1 overall seed, while the Cleveland Indians currently are 1/2 game ahead of the Boston Red Sox for the No. 2 seed. So, what does it all mean for Boston? Well, a lot. The Red Sox enter Game 162 facing three potential scenarios that all have different implications for whether they’d host Game 1 of the American League Division Series or travel to
