Red Sox Vs. Blue Jays Lineup: Can Eduardo Rodriguez Continue Solid Run?

Share this: Everything went right at just the right time for the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Can they carry that momentum into Saturday? The Red Sox’s bats exploded against the Toronto Blue Jays in their series opener at Rogers Centre, as Rick Porcello earned his 20th win in a 13-3 victory. The American League East rivals are back at it Saturday afternoon, with a pair of left-handers on the mound in the Red Sox’s Eduardo Rodriguez and the Blue Jays’ J.A. Happ. Rodriguez dazzled in his last outing, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning against the Oakland Athletics, and has a 2.73 ERA in nine starts since the All-Star break. Happ, meanwhile, is second in baseball behind Porcello in wins with a

Jackie Bradley Jr. Debuts New Outfield Dance After Red Sox Beat Blue Jays

Share this: From Rick Porcello’s 20th win of the season to an offensive explosion, there was a whole lot to like about the Boston Red Sox’s win Friday night. But the most interesting development might have come after the final out. The Red Sox’s outfielders have made a habit of celebrating each win this season with a special dance that ends with the star of the game posing while the other two pretend to take his picture. After Boston’s 13-3 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, though, Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Brock Holt gave their dance a little extra twist. Behold, “The Ski Jump:” As it turns out, Bradley’s new dance didn’t come out of, ahem, left field. In fact, the Red Sox center

Red Sox Notes: Andrew Benintendi Ahead Of Schedule In Recovery From Knee Injury

Share this: There was, in fact, good news for the Boston Red Sox on Monday after they dropped the first game of their series against the San Diego Padres. Left fielder Andrew Benintendi’s rehab from a left knee sprain he suffered Aug. 24 against the Tampa Bay Rays is progressing faster than the Red Sox expected, MLB.com’s Ian Browne reported Monday. Benintendi will get a new knee brace Tuesday. “He went through a number of things here (Monday), rehab-wise,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said before Monday’s 2-1 loss. “The increase in running — he ran on the back edge of the infield here roughly at 80 to 85 percent intensity. He hit in the cage. He’s going to hit in the fourth group

A Young Clay Buchholz Dazzled Orioles With A No-Hitter Nine Years Ago Today

Share this: For all the rough patches Clay Buchholz has gone through lately, it’s easy to forget he once was one of baseball’s most exciting pitchers. Buchholz made his major league debut for the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 17, 2007. And while he picked up the win in a solid outing, it was the Texas native’s next appearance that had Red Sox fans salivating. On Sept. 1, 2007 — exactly nine years ago today — Buchholz absolutely flummoxed the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park in just his second big league start. The lanky 23-year-old right-hander threw a dominating mix of lively fastballs, diving changeups and devastating curveballs that kept the O’s guessing. That excellent arsenal helped Buchholz rack up nine strikeouts, and his last made
